A hard clock is ticking on a lawsuit filed by the wife of thrice convicted felon, self-admitted mentally-ill tax cheat and Ocean County GOP Chairman against the couple's former accountant alleging, amongst other things, that he (the accountant) knew that Gilmore was behind on his taxes and that he (the accountant) should have advised her to file separate tax returns.
Earlier this week the Lakewood Township Planning Board approved a plan that will see six five-story buildings with 100 homes in each, of which the majority will be three-bedroom apartments. Each building will have a playground for children. The site will also include a child care center and 1,295 parking spaces.
Under California law, federal and state special education funding is available to public schools and secular private schools. However, state law prohibits these funds from going to private religious schools, such as the Orthodox Jewish schools these California parents want their children to attend. The prohibition also applies to Catholic schools, Protestant Christian schools, Muslim schools, and any other religiously affiliated school.
A challenge by a neighbor to the general use of Union Congregational Church’s playground at 5R Norman Ave. in Magnolia, Massachusetts by neighborhood kids and families, not just church families, due to noise was before the Zoning Board of Appeals this last night.
Last night the Ocean County Republican Council convened, first to decide the fate of the Republicans For Toms River club, and second to decide whether to accept the recommendations of the Ocean County GOP screening committee and move its recommendations through the nominating process to place candidates on the "county line" for June's republican primary. At the end of the night the defeated, mentally-ill tax cheat and three time convicted felon George Gilmore was forced to eat a heaping helping of humble pie.
On Monday a state appeals court ruled that Lakewood public schools do not receive adequate state funding to meet their needs, declaring it is “severely strained” by its obligation to provide transportation and special education to tens of thousands of nonpublic school students.
It's no secret that self-described mentally ill tax cheat George Gilmore has a public relations problem. Although he was spared a 366 day sentence in federal prison by a President Trump pardon, the convictions never do go away and neither do the millions of dollars that Gilmore owes to Ocean County taxpayers from whom he stole the money. And yes he was returned to the Ocean County GOP Chairmanship by a handful of Berkeley Township retirees who offered their vote in exchange for a a free bus ride, coffee and stale Entenmann's, but since the July 2022 election, Gilmore's public standing has been falling faster than a Chinese spy balloon shot down by an F-22 Raptor.
The biggest slice of Gov. Phil Murphy’s $53.1 billion budget proposal for the next fiscal year is state funding for public education, with $20.5 billion allocated for direct aid to school districts. Should Murphy's budget hold, it's Christmas in March for Newark, a district that will see an increase of $114 million to a total of $1.15 billion in 2023/2024, or total state aid of $31,500/student. Meanwhile in Jackson the district faces a loss of $6.3 million, to a total of just $27.8 million or $3,971/student and Toms River fairs even worse, losing $14.4 million, to a total state aid of only $30.9 million or $1,931/student.
Since the Asbury Park Press' Erik Larsen now refers to Rise Up Ocean County as an "anti-George Gilmore blog", is it fair to refer to the Asbury Park Press as a pro-George Gilmore rag? More to the point, can we dispense with the notion that Larsen is a reporter covering Ocean County politics and begin referring to him as Gilmore's Press Secretary?
The race to replace Ocean County Commissioner Joe Vicari, originally thought to be a coronation of Iranian-American developer and pay-to-play Engineer Foad "Frank" Sadeghi, has taken a decided turn as decorated Iraqi War veteran Lt. Colonel Menashe Miller has entered the fray.
Like all petty despots and tyrants who came before him, mentally-ill tax cheat, thrice convicted felon and current Ocean County GOP Chairman George Gilmore has done his level best to dispose of his critics, suppress public release of information that might otherwise be damaging to his reign as emperor of the OCGOP and to clear the path to positions of influence for those who have pledged and demonstrated sufficient loyalty to him.
After costing American taxpayers millions in money that he stole, tens of thousands more for his trial and tens of thousands more for his appeal, Gilmore showed no humility or remorse after being pardoned. In a prepared statement, Gilmore claimed that President Trump recognized the injustice of his conviction and declared himself an innocent man, wrongly convicted. And he claimed that his attorney had gutted the government's case against him as if a grand jury hadn't indicted him, a judge had not found him guilty at trial and a first level appellate panel had not ruled against him.
When Mayor Michael Reina and his Moving Jackson Forward team of Jennifer Kuhn and Scott Sargent laid out their vision for Jackson during last year's campaign, the cornerstones of their message were the need to take a more aggressive approach toward the purchase of open space.to stave off over-development and to become creative when necessary to prevent misplaced development. Both were on display last night at the Council meeting.
Mentally ill tax cheat, convicted felon, and Ocean County GOP Chairman George Gilmore is facing a watershed moment as forces opposed to his leadership are mustering their troops. At issue is a damning report that resulted from an ongoing, monthslong investigation conducted by a private investigative service at the behest of a handful of Ocean County GOP faithful not aligned with Gilmore.

Speaking of backroom deals, who knew that Block was recently brought out of retirement and installed as the Business Administrator of Manchester Township by Gilmore's puppet government? Anyone?
The Ocean County GOP Screening Committee will be minus one honest voice when it convenes on Saturday to interview a myriad of candidates seeking the "county line" in June's republican primaries. Mentally ill convicted tax cheat and Ocean County GOP Chairman George Gilmore has decided to remove Jackson Township Mayor Michael Reina as a member of the committee as his purge of those that he perceives to be disloyal to him continues.

Gilmore's indebtedness to American taxpayers now exceeds $3.5 MILLON
In what can only be considered a major victory for those parties that rose in opposition to D.R. Horton's proposal to build 59 single family homes on a wooded, 31 acre parcel in Brick Township, Ocean County officials have announced an agreement that will preserve the land as part of the Ocean County Natural Lands Trust inventory.
If the board was looking for a good ambulance chaser they got one, but if they were looking for someone who could guide the board through perilous land use law waters, including applications that might have Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act implications, well, may God have mercy on all of us because the courts won't.
Contrary to views being share on social media this is not an effort by the Mayor or Council to make attending the Council meeting more difficult, it is an effort to eliminate the conflicting times and thereby encourage residents to attend the Speak Out session. nothing more.
n what can only be a political ploy on the part of Council President Marty Flemming and his handlers, missing from the agenda is an ordinance that would allow the negotiated land swap between Jackson Township and Bellevue Estates, to relocate four orthodox Jewish schools from a residential area on Leesville Rd. to the Jackson/Lakewood border, to move forward.
In seeking to fill the vacancy, Gilmore is going to have to navigate the cadre of elected officials who will be clamoring for the chance to run in what is widely considered one of the safest GOP districts in the New Jersey Senate, some of whom Gilmore has already promised the seat.
t ain't easy being Ocean County GOP Chairman and still convicted felon George Gilmore.
After horrific political losses over the last few months, earlier today Superior Court Judge Lisa Thornton, A.J.S.C. cudgelled Gilmore about the head by dismissing as frivolous his lawsuit against attorneys Gregory McGuckin and Jerry Dasti, as well as former Ocean County GOP administrator Pat Lane.
Yesterday the first shoe dropped when Superior Court Judge Susan Thornton denied a motion on the part of Ocean County GOP Chairman and still convicted felon George Gilmore to adjourn a hearing scheduled for tomorrow, a hearing at which it is expected that Thornton will rule on motions to dismiss Gilmore's ill-conceived and frivolous lawsuit against attorneys Gregory McGuckin and Jerry Dasti.
On Tuesday night the Jackson Township Council held it's reorganization meeting and the bloc vote of Martin Flemming, Steve Chisholm jr. and Nino Borrelli muscled it's way to key leadership posts over the protestations of newcomers Jennifer Kuhn and Scott Sargent. In doing so the three mouseketeers assured Jackson residents that they intend to defy the wishes of voters, who overwhelmingly supported a new Council agenda in retiring former Councilman Andy Kern and former Councilwoman Samara Porter-O'Neill

Mayor Michael Reina, who won re-election, will also be sworn in to his new four year term. The it's off to the business at hand.
Not since Bill Clinton said "I did not have sex with that woman....Ms. Lewinski" has a politician so blatantly lied in such an easily disprovable fashion as did Jackson Township Councilman Steve Chisholm Jr. last night when he first denied owning Aspen Tree Expert Co. Inc. and second claimed that a revised ordinance governing the authority of the Jackson Township Shade Tree Commission was nothing more than "wordsmithing".
Earlier this month Halberstam delivered on that threat filing a Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA) lawsuit that accuses the Town of Forestburgh, its Town Board and Zoning Board of Appeals plus key town officials of anti-Semitism and alleging "they have engaged in a pattern and practice of illegal actions to block Orthodox Hasidic Orthodox Jews from moving to the Town.
